Redmine OpenSpace3D - Feature #635 (New): Pause Plugit And Slow Motion Plugit.http://redmine.arkeon.be/issues/6352024-03-08T00:47:03Zsamiux

The pause plugin allows you to pause the scene or application, for example to go to the bathroom or to answer the phone.

The slow motion plugin allows you to add a slowmotion effect to the application, a bit like the Matrix bullet times effect.
OpenSpace3D - Feature #634 (New): Export To Xbox One/Xbox Serieshttp://redmine.arkeon.be/issues/6342024-02-21T23:35:52Zsamiux

Normally there is no export for consoles on OpenSpace3D because they are proprietary platforms where you have to pay for a developer account to be authorized to release games on the console. However, only one console manufacturer makes a small exception to this rule: Microsoft with its Xbox One and Xbox Series.

On Xbox One but also on Xbox Series it is possible to install third-party applications using the Xbox DevKit application and by having an Xbox developer account which costs $20 for life. The only limit is that applications cannot exceed more than 6GB in storage. For applications larger than 6GB, you must be authorized by Xbox to release your games on the Microsoft Store.
OpenSpace3D - Feature #633 (New): decals plugit (or decals function in draw plugit???)http://redmine.arkeon.be/issues/6332024-02-14T18:28:05Zsamiux

Plugit allowing the addition of an image to a texture (to create, for example, bullet holes on a wall or to create blood slapping the floor and walls). On the other hand, I don't know if a new plugit is needed or if it can be integrated perfectly into the draw plugit.
OpenSpace3D - Feature #632 (New): Waypoint Plugithttp://redmine.arkeon.be/issues/6322024-02-05T00:28:32Zsamiux

Waypoints are a very effective way to quickly and simply create artificial intelligence. Before starting with an AI Nav Mesh. Wouldn't it be simpler to start with a waypoint AI?

Plugit allowing you to create a path predefined by nodes and allows for example an enemy to chase the player among the path of nodes. I see the plugit similar to the object track plugit but except that the animations are not calculated in time and the nodes just serve as a path for enemies to orient themselves but can also be useful for example for a competing car to follow the track.
OpenSpace3D - Feature #630 (New): Object Clone Plugithttp://redmine.arkeon.be/issues/6302023-12-22T02:36:16Zsamiux

Plugit allowing you to duplicate, remove or clone an object present in the scene. Similar to the items plugit but allows you to have full control of the object thanks to the other plugits. Just like the items plugit the object would be stored in ram for loading without pause.
OpenSpace3D - Feature #626 (New): pathfinding plugithttp://redmine.arkeon.be/issues/6262021-12-05T16:41:43Zsamiux

The plug it pathfinding has the same function as the plug it chase except for the source object which finds its way between different objects in order to chase the target object.
OpenSpace3D - Feature #625 (New): chase plugithttp://redmine.arkeon.be/issues/6252021-12-04T16:03:39Zsamiux

This plugit allows the source object to chase the target object endlessly (or with an end determined by another plugit). (Example for an application: a zombie chases a player endlessly until the time runs out.)

Scol - Feature #622 (New): Management of several random game controllers http://redmine.arkeon.be/issues/6222021-03-09T22:40:15Zsamiux

It works very well when I plug in two game controllers but the problem is when I launch the application it randomly chooses the player instead of the one controller which is assigned to the player one it assigns the one controller to the player two and controller two to player one. If only there was an option in the joypad plugit that would avoid this.
OpenSpace3D - Feature #620 (New): object follow 2d plugithttp://redmine.arkeon.be/issues/6202021-01-23T20:50:24Zsamiux

does exactly the same as the object follow plugit except that the camera does not follow the object on the Y axis except if the object is outside the camera's view frame.
OpenSpace3D - Feature #618 (New): add joycon support plugithttp://redmine.arkeon.be/issues/6182020-12-23T22:00:23Zsamiux

Hi sorry to bother you again but I got the idea for a new plugit. I had the idea of a plugit to control an Openspace3d application via the Joycons (controller sold with the Nintendo Switch console which can be plugged into a PC thanks to Bluetooth) to do a bit like with the Wiimote which even if this is the Wiimote is excellent for controlling applications OpenSpace3D tends to get old. We can pair 2 joycons with external software like XJoy but this does not bring all the functionality of the joycons like the laser pointer, a bit like the Wii but without infrared bar as well as motion detection. Personally, I don't mind waiting for new versions to see this kind of plug-in, but I just had this idea which suddenly occurred to me.
OpenSpace3D - Bug #617 (New): The button X of the Xbox 360 doesn't work on Linux. http://redmine.arkeon.be/issues/6172020-12-14T04:07:22Zsamiux

The button X of the Xbox 360 (the button number 03) doesn't work on Openspace3D application compiled for Linux.
OpenSpace3D - Feature #615 (New): Add characters animation editor or characters animation plugithttp://redmine.arkeon.be/issues/6152019-12-11T23:07:12Zsamiux

Openspace3d is an excellent real-time 3d engine. However one of the only flaws that I blame him is the difficulty exported animated characters through Ogre. Compared to other real-time 3D engines OpenSpace3D does not have an animation editor for the characters and nothing is on the horizon to fill this gap. I hope you have heard my preposition to integrate it into a future update of OpenSpace3D.
OpenSpace3D - Feature #611 (New): [Node] Sprite Managerhttp://redmine.arkeon.be/issues/6112019-10-24T00:15:39ZMrKofein

Summary
A sprite manager would open the world of 2D & Pixel Art to OpenSpace3D.
It would allow the user to create sequences of animations, i.e. for characters movement.
Additionally, it could include some graphical features.

Game example
"The player is using the 'Up' key; therefore his character is now visible from the back and plays the walk animation. Now the player is using both the down and right key; therefore the character face/left side is visible in oblique and keeps on walking".

Description
First, the user would have to select an entity (i.e. character) on which he wishes to play the sequences.
The Node window would list several "sequences" (displayed as rows) of pictures; all these sequences would get an ID (string or int).
By using a "+" button, the user can add & name another sequence. Using a "-" button would remove the selected sequence.
Each row would contain the following:
At the beginning, the name/number of the sequence.
Then a number to enter, which would indicate how many steps would be used (starting at 1 minimum).
Then boxes in which the user selects its pictures (an automatic addition based on a naming convention would be a nice bonus)
At the end of each sequence, a "Loop" checkbox would allow the animation to... loop, instead of stopping there.

Graphical option:
- Possibility to check a box in order to automatically set the sprite to "Unlit";

Usage Example
- The player moves a character to the right. It starts playing "movingRight" sequence in loop.
- The player finds a chests on opens it. It starts playing "chestOpening" and stops at the end of the animation, then plays a sound.

Warning: A sprite renders well only if uncompressed. For instance, the user may provide a 32 by 32 pixels pictures, which is already pretty light. Any kind of compression applied on this texture may drastically impact quality, leading to a blurry aspect.
OpenSpace3D - Feature #610 (New): [Node] Variable Managerhttp://redmine.arkeon.be/issues/6102019-10-23T23:06:31ZMrKofein

Summary:
A Variable Manager could prove fairly useful in the context of a game or simulation which would imply the management of numerous variables. Having such a manager could help edit, organize, sort, import & export large amounts of data. It would provide the user the possibility to create named "Containers" (i.e. "resources"), then within these containers, he could create named "values" (i.e. "wood") which would get an assigned Int, Float or String (i.e. 5).
Game example:
"Resources" contains "Wood = 5", "Iron = 10", "Water = 12.5"
"Marcus" contains "Work = 'Butcher', "City = "BlackCastle", "Money = "200"

Description
The node's window would be split in two parts:

<ins>Left side</ins>
This part would hold the "containers". User can use a "+" button which would create a new Container named "New Entry" which can be renamed. Clicking any existing entry will update the right panel, displaying the content of this container. A "-" button could also be used to remove the selected entry.

<ins>Right side</ins>
This part holds all the values integrated within the selected container. User can use a "+" button to add a new value, which would add a new line to the list. The line would start with a drop-down list giving the choice between "Int", "Float" or "String". It could also use non-prog related descriptions. In front of the choice, two data fields named "Value" and "Content", which can be edited.
A "-" button allows the user to remove a value.

The window would also hold "export" and "import" buttons (which should also be available as Inputs for the Node).

<ins>Bonus</ins>
A drop down menu including several templates for Strategy Games, Simulations, Management games etc could be provided to help the user to understand the node.

Usage Example
- The player wants to hire an NPC; he checks numerous characters and chooses based on the character's specs.
- The player wants to build a bridge; for that, he needs to have enough wood along with enough nails. If he does not, he fails to build the bridge.

A very simple way to read, edit, manage, stock and load large amounts of variables sorted this way would open a large number of possibilities within OpenSpace3D, helping users which are not familiar with code to create rich and complex simulations.
